895,532. Securing door knobs &c. on spindles. HOLDEN & CO. (B'HAM) Ltd., E., and HOLDEN, E. J. Dec. 15, 1960 [Dec. 16, 1959], No. 42708/59. Class 80 (2). The boss 102 of a door knob &c. secured on the end of a split square spindle 11 by a transverse pin 14 carries a bush 12 having a greater external diameter, to protect the boss from damage during hammering-in of the pin. As shown, displacement of the pin is prevented by the rose 15, but in an alternative arrangement, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), the length of the pin is less than the internal diameter of the bush whereby, after insertion of the pin, the bush may be rotated to prevent withdrawal of the pin.
