Abstract

895,114. Wrapping apparatus. GAMBLE, H. Sept. 28, 1960 [Oct. 1, 1959], No. 33353/60. Class 94(1). A wrapping apparatus having an article pushing ram and a folding channel has means carried by the ram for applying adhesive to a marginal portion of the wrap after the wrap has been folded over three sides of the article and before the marginal portions are folded over the fourth side of the article. The ram 6 pushes the article 5 and the sheet 1a into a folding channel 8 so that the sheet 1a is folded over three sides 5a, 5b, 5c of the article. The ram includes a bath 12 of glue 14 and carries glue-applying pads or strips 11 mounted on one or more spring biased levers 15 which are raised by cam-plate 16 to apply glue 10 to the wrapper margin 1b.
