894,336. Thermal regenerators. PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN N. V. Dec. 2, 1958 [Dec. 5, 1957], No. 38854/58. Class 64(1) In a thermal generator at least that part of the filler material adjacent the wall of the regenerator housing 1 consists of one or more layers of a material consisting of a foundation layer from which extends a plurality of filamentary elements 6 and may be metallic or non-metallic, e.g. it may be a pile fabric such as velvet. The heat transfer mass may consist entirely of a roll of such material or as shown it may comprise a pad 2 of fine nickel-chrome or other metal wire embraced by the said material.
