Abstract

A radiation-resistant lubricant comprises material obtained by alkylating benzene with propylene tetramer and recovering-fraction boiling above 250 DEG C., e.g. boiling in the range 340-460 DEG C. together with about 5% of a viscosity index improver, e.g. polyisobutylene, a polymethacrylate or an alkylated polystyrene, and may be thickened to a grease with a clay, silica, or sodium terephthalamate.
