Abstract

893,078. Radiation detector circuits. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. Jan. 25, 1961 [Jan. 26, 1960], No. 3192/60. Class 40(3). A radiation detector comprises a Geiger tube 10 in series with a capacitor 11 shunted by a resistor 12, a battery and a current limiting resistor 14. The voltage developed across the capacitor when radiation is detected fires a cold-cathode tube 15 which discharges drawing current from capacitor 20 and causes relay 18 to lock up over contact 21 and to close an alarm bell circuit 24.
