Abstract

892,153. Combine-harvesters. CLAAS, R. Nov. 4, 1960 [Nov. 4, 1959], No. 38030/60. Class 6(3). In a combine-harvester having a rigidlyattached straw-baler, the baler 19 is fastened to the harvester-body 11 by means permitting it to be detached completely or swung into an inoperative position. The fastening comprises dismantlable hinges 21 on one or both sides of the junction between the baler and harvester bodies so that the baler can be swung aside as shown dotted in Fig. 2. A retractible undercarriage 30, 32, 33 takes the weight off the hinges and comprises telescopic struts 30 and a ground-wheel 33. The undercarriage is retracted during normal use, by shortening of the struts 30.
