Abstract

891,924. Discharge apparatus. SOC. APPARECCHI ELECTRICIE SCIENTIFICI S.p.A. Dec. 16, 1960 [Dec. 17, 1959], No. 43388/60. Class 39(1) A getter device comprises an annular channel member which may be extended as a tube containing getter material from which getter vapour escapes wherein the annular member is formed around the perimeter of a shield which protects the electrodes of a discharge tube from bombardment by the getter vapour. The channel member 2 has as shown an upwardly extending wall about its outer perimeter. Disc 6 acts as a shield. In a modification the channel member is extended axially to form a tube with a longitudinal slit. One or more walls are angled independently of one another to guide the escaping particles. Specifications 736,475 and 829,338 are referred to.
