Abstract

The invention comprises bis (1H,1H,3H-tetrafluoropropyl) phthalate and a process for its preparation by reacting 1H,1H,3H-tetrafluoro-1-propanol with phthaloyl chloride and heating the mixture when the hydrogen chloride evolution is complete. An example is given. The ester finds application as a dielectric.
