Abstract
891,787. Coating bakers' and confectioners' goods. SOLLICH, R. June 25, 1958 [July 4, 1957], No. 20333/58. Class 28 (1). [Also in Group XXVI] A feed device, for an enrober or the like, comprises a horizontal pipe 1 with closed ends 2, a central inlet 3 for connection to a chocolate feed pipe 4 and one or more slots running parallel to the axis of the pipe within which a feed worm 8, which changes its helical sense at the centre of the pipe, is so rotated that it causes the chocolate to be conveyed to the ends of the pipe. As shown, Figs. 1 and 2, pipes 1 and 4 have steam or like jackets. The skeletal worm 8 is mounted in bearings in walls 2 and leaves a clear central zone 12. An adjustable roof-shaped curtain bar 13 controls a slot 5 in the bottom of the pipe 1 and causes two curtains to be formed. Bar 13 which is exchangeable for bars of different section, e.g. drop shaped to form one curtain, may be lowered by the operator to let crumbs and the like flow through. This may be done periodically automatically. In modifications, Figs. 5, 6 (not shown), the slots are provided at the sides of pipe 1 and have slot control devices and form one or two curtains. In Fig. 7 (not shown) the slot is in the top of the pipe and one curtain is formed. Valves 25 at the ends of pipe 1 lead to a bottom coating applying arrangement.
