Abstract
The invention comprises 17a -vinyl-19-norandrostan-17b -ol-3-one and a process for its preparation by reacting 17a -vinyl-19-nor-testosterone with an alkali metal in liquid ammonia. A detailed example illustrates the use of lithium as the alkali metal.
