Abstract

[Also in Groups XXV and XXVIII] In a tube connector, the tube ends 4, Fig. 3, are gripped by the lateral displacement of an internal member 8 within an external sleeve member 2. A screw 12 engaging with a tapped hole 16 abuts the internal surface of the external sleeve member to move the internal member laterally. As shown the external sleeve member is the top of a handrail stanchion 9, Fig. 4, having a second connector 2 midway along it. In Fig. 6 the external sleeve member is an elbow.
