889,933. Respiratory appliances. HUNTER, G.O.L., and HUNTER, H., [trading as HUNTER BROS.]. Jan. 13, 1961 [Oct. 16, 1959], No. 35070/59. Class 81 (2). A face mask comprises a perforated or porous, flexible sheet 10, forming a holder for a filter pad 11, and is stiffened and shaped by a plurality of deformable members 13. The holder 10 is preferably made from synthetic resin material and has press studs 15 for securing the filter. The stiffening members 13 may be strips of mild steel and are located in pockets 14 formed in the material of the holder.
