887,448. Mould closing devices. FENDENHEIM, F. May 25, 1960 [May 29, 1959; Nov. 5, 1959], No. 18400/60. Class 87(2). A mould carrier casing for an injection mould comprises a jade 8 acting at an angle of approximately 45 degrees between the cover of the casing and a front wall to effect tight closing of the mould within said casing. A fluid operated jack 8 is inclined at 45 degrees to the cover 2 of a mould easing and is actuated to clamp bosses 43, 44 integral with the casing base 1 and the cover 2 between opposed surfaces 41, 42. Jack 8 is mounted on an arm 28 pivoted at 29 to a slide 30 and movement of arm 24 causes the casing to slide to the right and rod 36 to release a valve in the fluid distributer 37 so that the jack is released. Arm 28 is caused by roller 31 to pivot about 29 and pen 35 slides in slot 34 in arm 28 when movement of slide 30 is arrested by stop 40. In the embodiment of Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown), springs connect the cover and base of the easing and in Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), the upper mould half is rigidly connected to the cover of the easing.
