Abstract

887,249. Pan scourers. L.B. PLASTICS Ltd. Nov. 7, 1960 [Nov. 7, 1959], No. 37825/59. Class 28 (2). [Also in Group XXIII] A pad has a ribbon 20 which is formed into a succession of loops 24 which are sown or bound at 21, 22, 23 to form an elongated member, which is folded or coiled round upon itself to form a scourer element, one end of which is mounted in a holder 25. As shown, the element is more tightly coiled at the bound edge. The element may be adhesively secured in the holder 25 or alternatively the element may be placed in a mould and the plastic or other material for the holder inserted so that it penetrates into the element to provide a mechanical key on setting. A rectangular pad may be formed. In a second embodiment a different form of ribbon is looped and bound and folded down the middle before subsequently folding or coiling. The ribbons may be formed of nylon or polythene filaments, copper or steel flattened wire, or any combination of these.
