Abstract
885,305. Dry cleaning apparatus. SIEBENMANN, K., [trading as PERMA-CLEAN K. SIEBENMANN.]. Jan. 1, 1960, No. 113/60. Class 138 (2). Articles are dry cleaned and dried in rotary drums 1 and 13 respectively, the two drums forming a single unit with a trough 23 extending between them for transferring articles from one drum to the other. The two drums 1, 13 are perforated, the articles being centrifuged in the dry-cleaning drum 1 and dried by hot air in the drum 13. The diameter of the drum 13 may be 5 to 20% greater than that of the drum 1 so that the cleaning and drying times are equal. The drums may be driven by separate motors or by a single motor through at least one clutch. The trough 23 may be sealed around the loading doors 4, 5, and mechanical means (not shown) provided for operating the doors, for loading and for transferring the articles. The two drums may be arranged, e.g. at right angles to one another.
