Abstract
881,794. Toy building blocks. MACMILLAN, J. C. A. Sept. 28, 1959, No. 32924/59. Class 132(3) [Also in Group X] A dome shaped structure, shown as a toy igloo, comprises three-dimensionally curved blocks which when placed one on top of another are stable and will not topple, the blocks each having two three-dimentionally curved surfaces which converge towards one another and four flat surfaces. The top of the dome is completed by a cap 5 which may comprise triangular curved segments. An entrance portion 2 communicates with an opening in one of the base blocks. The blocks may have interfitting dowels 16 and recesses 15 and as shown in Fig. 6, a revolving cam 17 within a hole in the dowel 16 can be engaged by a bolt portion 19 and turned to urge the dowel downwardly to tightly fit the recess; the bolt can then be secured by a nut 21. The curved blocks may be made from a moulding mixture or a plastics material.
