880,746. Clothes driers. PATENT-UND VERWALTUNGS A.G. July 1, 1960, No. 23128/60. Class 52(5) In a clothes drier having radial line-supporting arms 3 pivoted on a sleeve 2 which slides on a post 1 to open and close the arms, corrosion and the formation of dust by metal to metal contact are prevented by provision of a thermoplastic coating on one or both of the mutually contacting surfaces. The coatings 9, 10 are applied by dipping, spraying with hot fluid synthetic resin, or by shrinking or cementing on a tube or sheet of thermoplastic resin. A device for locking the arms at a selected height consists of a spring urged ball 5 which is released by a pivoted member 8.
