Abstract
880,169. Capacitor casings. TELEGRAPH CONDENSER CO. Ltd., and SPORING, P. A. May 21, 1958 [July 26, 1957], No. 23710/57. In a method of forming an insulating casing around a metal-cased cylindrical capacitor, a sheet of thermoplastic synthetic resinous material 7 is wound around the metal container 2 to form a sleeve, the outer convolution being secured by adhesive or the application of heat. The insulating material is of a type which contracts on the application of heat and the edges of the sheet extend beyond the ends of the container 2 and when heated fold over and enclose the turned-over portions 6 of the metal casing.
