Abstract

878,562. Cutting apparatus. CLARK Ltd., C. & J. Sept. 29, 1958 [Sept. 27, 1957], No. 30324/57. Class 31 (2). [Also in Groups V and XI] Flash is removed from a shoe sole or heel by forcing it into the groove between blades 11, 12, heated by thermostatically-controlled electric resistance heaters 14. The blades are fixed to a housing 17 pivotally mounted at 18. In a modification, Fig. 1, the heater 8 may be mounted in (as shown) or along-side the arm 4. The blades are curved upwardly. In a further modification, Fig. 9, the blades may be formed integrally in an electrically-heated plate 34.
