Abstract

877,673. Pistons. CORNET, A. Sept. 14, 1959 [Sept. 13, 1958], No. 31312/59. Class 122 (1). The gudgeon-pin bosses 7 of a trunk piston are supported from the head 1 by a partition 10 and from the skirt 4 by partitions 13, 14 transverse to the gudgeon-pin axis and connected to the skirt over a major portion of its length. The bosses have a clearance 16 in trapezium-shaped slots 5 in the upper edge of the skirt which is separated from the head 1. The partition 10 has stiffening ribs 11 and the partitions 13, 14 extend substantially in line with the internal faces of the bosses 7. The minimum thrust face of the skirt has an inclined slot 30 therein between the partitions 13. Specification 848,734 is referred to.
