Abstract

876,470. Gutter brackets. TERSONS Ltd. Oct. 22, 1959, No. 35806/59. Class 52(5). [Also in Group X] Guttering comprises a gutter and a gutter support bracket having a socket portion 1 shaped to receive the end of at least one gutter length 2, an inwardly directed projection 4 being provided at the upper margin of each side wall of the gutter bracket to retain a gutter length 2 in the bracket the gutter being resiliently deformable for snapping home into the socket. The projections 4 are of resilient material to allow each gutter length 2 to be pressed into the socket portion 1 and then be retained by the projection. To ensure a tight fit in the socket and to prevent leakage between adjacent gutter lengths a pad 5 of foam rubber or the like is situated between the gutter 2 and the socket 1. The gutter and the bracket may be made of a resilient material such as fibre glass. The bracket may be made to support two abutting gutter lengths 2 or it may be formed as an end member for a length of guttering. As shown in Fig. 4 a drop pipe 6 is provided in the bracket to allow water to flow away from the gutters.
