A cake stand with one or more surfaces 12 has a central pillar 10 to which the bottom plate is fixed by a screw 11 with a disc 17 and washer 18 above the plate and a foot with a central boss 13, radial arms and a rim 16 under the plate so that the head of the screw 11 is lifted clear of the table. The pillar may be made in sectional lengths according to the number of plates to be carried.
