Abstract

874,901. Label dispensers. MEER, VAN B. F. July 27, 1959, No. 25625/59. Class 94(1). A label dispenser of the kind in which labels are carried on a tape fed over a sharp edge to release them, has a feeler controlling label feed and designed to be engaged by the edge of an approaching label and be carried forward by it. The feeler 10 is pivoted to a spring biased lever 12 which is moved to operate a switch 15 when the feeler is engaged by a label 8 and stop a motor winding up the stripped tape 4 on to a roll. In one embodiment, a weighted lever 22 rests at one end on the partially discharged label and when this is removed by hand, the lever tilts to raise the feeler 10 clear of the next label. The feeler and lever 12 are then pulled back by the spring 19 and feeding recommences. In another embodiment, Figs. 1, 2 (not shown), the feeler has a projection positioned to be raised by manual removal of the label and thus the feeler is released from the following label as before.
