In a last vehicle detector arrangement for use on a train of rail vehicles coupled by automatic or semi-automatic couplings, the train-carried apparatus 4 which co-operates with track apparatus 5 is connected by a member 3 to the coupling 2 of the last vehicle. The connection is such that the coupling cannot then be used to connect another vehicle.
