Abstract
Chlorinated hydrocarbons, e.g. trichloroethylene or perchlorethylene, are recovered from waste waters containing them in dissolved and undissolved form by subjecting the waste water first to filtration, e.g. through a paper sand or ceramic filter, and then to adsorption, e.g. with active carbon. The chlorocarbon may be removed from the adsorbent by steam stripping.
