Abstract
In a driving station for machines in underground workings, a clutch (2) and transmission (3) are combined on the block design principle, the clutch and transmission blocks (4, 5) being interchangeable, for which purpose they have housings (6, 7) with uninterrupted joint faces (9), which are sealed one against the other. A clutch cylinder (13) can also form a part of the clutch housing (6). The housings may include proximity sensors for detecting clutch slippage and apertures for electrical cables. <IMAGE>
