Abstract

Ethylene is polymerized in a liquid vehicle in the presence of aluminium, titanium trichloride and oxygen, the molar quantity of oxygen not exceeding the molar quantity of titanium trichloride. The titanium trichloride may be in its metastable form, while cyclohexane and a petroleum fraction are diluents.
