869,342. Filing paper. LEITZ, M., LEITZ, M., LEITZ, C.,-and KLAINER, H., [trading as LOUIS, LEITZ BRIEFORDNERFABRIK]. Feb. 17, 1959 [March 12, 1958], No. 5501/59. Class 146(1). Loose-leaf binding mechanism of the type comprising fixed filing posts closed by lever operated arched posts 13, the latter being con-. nected by a cranked bridge portion 16 on which one arm of the lever acts, is characterized in that the said lever arm is fitted with a shoe 21 having a bearing surface of plastic, resinous or synthetic resinous material to engage the bridge portion 16. The shoe 21 is shaped to co-operate with the surface of the bridge portion 16 and is asymmetrically curved in the direction of that portion of the bridge 16 with which it co-operates. The end of the lever arm 17 carrying the shoe, is of reduced crosssection and fits in an appropriately shaped cavity in the shoe. The shoe may be made of a plastic having a polyamide or polyvinyl ,chloride base.
