868,731. Making filters. CARTIERA ITALIANA S.p.A. March 14, 1960 [March 18, 1959], No. 8978/60. Class 46. [Also in Groups V and XXVIII] A filter is made by depositing natural or synthetic fibres from a suspension on a porous mould to form an element, Fig. 1, comprising prisms 1 connected to each other at their edges 2 and to a rim 8 of circular or polygonal shape. The central part 9 is removed, after drying, and the lower edges of the prisms 1 are dipped in glue. The prisms are then rotated inwardly until the glued edges abut, Fig. 3, when they are held in position, until the glue has set. The upper edge of the rim 8 may be corrugated. The filter may be circular, as shown, or rectangular.
