Abstract

868,392. Bate grabs. FOGDEN, T. Jan. 6, 1960 [Nov. 18, 1958], No. 37103/58. Class 78(4). In a bale grab, rotatable cranked jaws 4 are turned inwardly by a spring 15, so that prongs 12, 13 engage a bale to be lifted when rollers 6 are raised from the ground. As long as the rollers 6 are pressed against the ground jaws 4 are held rotated such that prongs 12, 13 point upwards, thus enabling the grab to be pushed into a position in which a bale lies between jaws 4. The rotation of the jaws 4 may be limited in both directions by stops (not shown). Specification 863,270 is referred to.
