Abstract
867,877. Pictures. MICHEL, P. Nov. 26, 1957 [Feb. 22, 1957], No. 36810/57. Class 11. [Also in Group X] A process for making a stained glass window consists of superposing several layers of stained, pattern defining, transparent or translucent material which mutually adhere to form a homogeneous mass. A support 1 has cells therein temporarily closed by elements 8. Successive layers of transparently coloured material 13, 14, 15, 16 are applied to the cells in selected parts, different colour effects being obtained by the superposition of the coloured layers. Between the coloured layers, layers of transparent colourless material can be inserted. The layers are such that they become hard at normal temperature and when set the material in each cell becomes a homogeneous mass. Any form of support which will permit the passage of light may be used.
