Abstract

867,215. Resilient mountings. GRINNELL CORPORATION. Aug. 19, 1958 [July 21, 1958], No. 26610/58. Class 108(3). In a variable support spring hanger, lugs 34 of a movable dished plate 28 slide in opposite slots in a casing 10. Blocks 44, of T-shaped cross-section, engage the lugs 34 of the plate 28 and hold a spring 26 under compression by engaging the slots in the casing 10. A wire or string 49 holds blocks 44 in position. The position of the slots in blocks 44 which engage the lugs 34 determines the compression under which the spring 26 is held. In a further. embodiment, two separate blocks such as the block 44 are employed one above the lug 34 and one below the lug 34 to compress the spring. Alternatively, blocks 44 may be used below lugs 34 and a bar may be inserted through the slots in the casing 10 above the dished plate member 28. U.S.A. Re-issue Specification 22,980 is referred to.
