A gas turbine engine comprises a turbine stator assembly comprising a number of components which are welded to one another at spaced points, the components being hermetically sealed by means of a coating of a high temperature resistant material. The subjectmatter of this Specification is identical with that described in Specification 865,544, the claims being of different scope.
