Abstract
865,303. Disc mills. DITTING, A. Jan. 21, 1960 [Jan. 23, 1959], No. 2262/60. Class 59. A discharge device for the ground material of a mill, e.g. a coffee mill, having grinding discs comprises a tube 6, preferably of transparent or translucent material, which is supported by a leaf spring 8 secured to a fixed support 4 to which is also secured a further leaf spring 10 which supports a hammer 14 which is normally pressed against the tube 6 so as to serve as a bag-holder, the hammer being preferably of rubber or soft plastic material. The upper ends of the springs 8, 10 are slotted so that the effective length of each spring can be varied. In operation, with the hammer raised, a bag is slipped over the lower end of the tube 6. The hammer is then released to hold the bag in position. Then, with the bag held in position with one hand, the hammer is raised with the other hand by means of a handle 12 and then released to knock against the outer wall of the tube. This operation can be repeated several times and as a result, particles adhering to the inner wall of the tube 6 are released and fall into the bag.
