Abstract

864,760. Abrasive tools. KLINGSPOR, C. Jan. 6, 1959 [Jan. 18, 1958], No. 541/59. Class 60. A rotary abrasive member for use like a grinding wheel comprises a plurality of axially aligned sectors 1 composed of an abrasive material and fitted together to form a helical body having a peripheral working face following a helical path, the axial cross-section of each sector decreasing from the centre towards the periphery. The sectors preferably have a high strength and a substantial elasticity. Each sector has peripheral ribs 3, 3 engaging carrying rings 4. The joint between adjacent sectors 1a, 1b, may be stepped and offset as shown in Fig. 4.
