864,260. Sheet delivery apparatus. FRANKFURTER MASCHINENBAU AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT VORM. POKORNY & WITTEKIND. May 30, 1957 [May 23, 1957], No. 17255/57. Class 100(1) Sheet delivery apparatus for picking up, transporting and setting down a sheet of material such as paper, comprises gripping members 2 pivoted at 22 to an arm 1 itself pivotally mounted at 20, the arm 1 and members 2 being capable of describing arcuate movement about their respective pivots such movement being controlled by a single controlling member, the arm 1 enclosing supply lines, e.g. air pressure and air suction lines, required to actuate the gripping members. The grippers take sheets from the impression cylinder of a printing machine and deposit them on a receiver 18. The arm 1 is oscillated through a rod 8 driven by a pin 6 on a cam 9 rotated by a constant speed shaft 7. The grippers 2 are oscillated by a push rod 5 contained in the arm 1. The cam 9 operates on a cam follower 11 mounted on a cranked lever 10 actuating the rod 5. The grippers 2 are supplied with air under pressure and suction through lines 3 and 4 also contained in the arm 1. The flow of air is controlled by a valve 12 actuated, through a lever 15 carrying a cam follower 16, by a cam 14 on a second constant speed shaft 13. Above the receiver 18 a system of pressurized pipes 19 is provided through which compressed air is blown to assist deposit of the sheets.
