863,663. Expansion joint strips. SERVICISED PRODUCTS CORPORATION. June 5, 1959, No. 19265/59. Class 20(4) A flexible, e.g. rubber strip for expansion &c. joints in concrete &c. structures comprises one side portion adapted to be embedded in the concrete 16, Fig. 2, on one side of the joint, and a second side portion 13 adapted to be embedded in concrete on the opposite side of the joint, the second side portion 13 being longitudinally divided at 14, Fig. 1, to provide a pair of flexible parts 13a, 136 adapted to be spread away from each other so as to be against the formwork 15 used in the casting of the concrete 16. After removal of the formwork 15 the parts 13a, 13b are drawn together and may be adhesively united and are embedded in concrete cast on the other side of the joint.
