Abstract

A pressure-sensitive material suitable for coating flexible webs comprises natural rubber and a tackifying resin comprising both an ester gum and a terpene resin, the latter being a highmelting-point resin with a softening-point in the range 100 DEG to 135 DEG C. (ring and ball method). The weight ratio between the rubber and the tackifying resin is preferably in the range 60 : 40 to 50 : 50 and the proportion of ester gum to terpene resin in the tackifying resin 20 : 80 to 70 : 30 by weight. A small amount, e.g. 1% by weight, of an antioxidant may be included in the composition.
