Abstract

860,102. Brushes. BELL, T. C. Sept. 16, 1959, No. 31552/59. Class 19. The brush consists of a handle, stock 13, stiffener plate 11 secured in and projecting out from the base of the stock, and a bag of porous, flexible material 10, e.g. polyurethane foam, secured to the stock after having been positioned about the perferably tapered stiffner plate that allows of a limited flexing of the head formed by the bag and the plate during use of the brush. The bag is formed by holding a sheet of the appropriate material upon itself and securing the side edges together with adhesive. The stock may be formed with internal passages as well as having built in pump means and/or valves for supplying liquid to the bag.
