A delay element for an electric fuze comprises a tube housing a delay composition, the tube being moulded from synthetic plastic material mixed with a metal, or metallic oxide, a metallic boride or a metallic carbide or with two or more of these substances. The synthetic material may be polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polystyrene a polyamide or a polycarbonate, and the metal may be iron, aluminium or zinc. Preferably the metallic substance provide more than 50% by weight of the composition of the tube, which may be made by injection moulding.
