A package for liquid, pasty and pulverulent materials, Fig. 2, comprises a bag 47 of yielding plastic material within a cardboard box 42, the box 42 having closing flaps 43 of which at least one flap has an extension 46 adapted to occupy a position normal to the flap and to extend outwardly along a medial plane of the box during filling, the bag 47 being secured to the extension 45. The plastic bag is expanded by an air jet and then filled by a tube 40 as shown. Sealing is by a weld 48, Fig. 3, close to the folded flaps 43, and the bag folds to a shape forming a triangular lug 50 overlapping a triangular tear tab 51 on one side flap 44. To close, the part 49 is folded down and then the flaps 44. To open the triangular tear tab 51 is torn off and the triangular lug 50 of the bag, which then projects out, is cut to form a pouring spout. Fig. 5 shows a construction similar to that in Figs. 2 and 3 except that the bag 47 is made rigid with two cardboard strips 52 provided with tongues 53 that engage in slots 54 cut in the extensions of the flaps 43. The bag may also be secured to the bottom of the box 42.
