Abstract
858,912. Cask stands ; stacking casks. BRYDON, N. E. M. Feb. 20, 1959 [March 4, 1958], No. 6837/58. Classes 21 and 94(1). Two end frames 2, 3, Fig. 9, adapted to extend circumferentially around a cask A are interconnected by bracing members 4 and 5. The resulting box-like structure is stackable as in Fig. 11, rigidity being ensured by cooperating dowel pins 20 and holes 21 or by locating shoes on each upper frame resting on bearer plates on each lower frame. To enclose a cask in the box-like structure the cask is first raised clear of the eventual supports B, Fig. 7, by means C, and the frames are then displaced as indicated in broken lines and manouvered as shown in full lines over the cask, the link 5 being temporarily disengaged from the frame 3 if necessary. When the cask is encased by the frame unit, the cask is lowered by the means C until the locating shoes 14 engage the supports B.
