Abstract

858,869. Supporting cables. RACAL ENGINEERING Ltd. July 22, 1959 [Aug. 15, 1958], No. 26252/58. Class 36 A helically coiled cable of the extensible and self-contracting type 7 is located in telecommunications apparatus by being secured adjacent to one of its ends and being supported, in its contracted state, in an elongated receptacle 8. The receptacle 8 may be fitted behind an equipment panel 4, the inner end being secured to a support 13. The inner, secured, end of the cable may terminate either in a plug and socket connection 11, 12 or in a screwed terminal strip (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown) to facilitate removal of the cable and receptacle from the equipment. The free end of the cable may be connected to a telephone hand set or other equipment.
