857,488. Measures of length; indicating- scales. HENSOLDT & SOHNE, OPTISCHE WERKE A.G., M. Feb. 2, 1959, No. 29575/58. Divided out of 841,220. Classes 106 (2) and 106 (4). A scale for a machine comprises a body 1 preferably of metal in which grooves 2 in the form of twin strokes are arranged leaving a bridge 3 between them of substantially rectangular cross-section. The right-hand groove of the pair 2<SP>11</SP> was formed too far to the left and this was compensated for by widening the left-hand groove to the right to bring the imaginary line representing the scale division to the middle of the bridge 3. The scale divisions may be centimeters, decimeters, inches or half inches.
