Abstract

854,090. Card clothing. DAMGAARD, G. Feb. 13, 1957, No. 4881/57, Classes 120(1) and 120(3). Saw tooth card clothing wire is formed so that the base of the teeth 1 has a V-shaped projection 2 at one longitudinal side and a corresponding V-shaped groove 3 along the other side so that in one turn of wire will rest with adjacent turns (Fig. 1). To space the rows of teeth more widely, the wire base may be made longer (Fig. 3), or a spacing wire 4 of the same shape as the base may be introduced to rest with the bases of adjacent teeth. A second groove 5 may be formed at the junction of teeth 1 and the base, so that teeth will break off along groove 5 if overstressed. Specification 711,646 is referred to.
