The clearing cam on each lock of a double flat bed hand knitting device is formed by two triangles 15, 16, arranged side by side on bolts 21, 22, and each movable, perpendicular to the plane of the needle bed, between two extreme positions in which it is retained by a spring 23 and a ball catch 25 respectively. Parts 19, 20, bent at an angle to the general plane of the triangles, provide for a guided displacement of those needles which do not slide into the needle channel. The apices 17, 18 of the triangles are rounded off or flattened.
