Abstract

A powder containing the active principles of senna in concentrated form is produced by grinding whole senna pods and separating the fine powder produced from the coarse powder by sieving or other suitable means, and rejecting the coarse powder. The fine powder may be used for compounding into recognised pharmaceutical forms for example plain, coated, or effervescing tablets, pills, suppositories, granules.
