Abstract

852,191. Lay figures; stands. HODGES, S. Jan. 7, 1959 [Jan. 10, 1958], No. 1082/58. Classes 52(3) and 52(5) Tubular support members 4, 9 of cardboard are connected by slots 14 to form a stand for a dress form. The overlapped ends of cardboard sheets are adhered or stapled to form the members and the member 9 folds, as shown in Fig. 3 to provide a box holding the disconnected sheets of the member 4 and of the dress form. Hem-line markings 15 may be notched, or struts may be provided, to carry an elastic cord to aid hem-making. In modifications the member 4 is formed of a single sheet and the dress form is not of the kind assembled from flat sheets.
