Abstract

850,461. Power brushing. OSBORN MANUFACTURING CO. Feb. 15, 1957, No. 5244/57. Class 60. [Also in Group XXVIII] A brushing stand has the brushes carried on arbors 39, 54 which also carry motors such as fluid motors 49, 72. The arbors are journalled in slides 1, 2 movable by jacks 27, 29, 64, 65. The fluid motors are controlled as disclosed in Specification 850,462. The whole assembly is carried on rollers 14, 15 for reciprocation along the brush axis as disclosed in Specification 809,162. The brushes are retained by tapered bores in 35, 36 engaging complementary members 37, 38, the bores being larger than the bearing assemblies 40 so that the brush shell 34 can be removed over the bearings. The brush strip 42 is preferably as disclosed in Specification 645,407.
