Abstract
848,920. Magnetrons. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO. Ltd. Feb. 12, 1958 [Jan. 7, 1957], No. 579/57. Class 39(1). In a multi-cavity magnetron having a cylindrical resonant structure formed with a plurality of radially extending segments defining cavities therebetween, and a plurality of circumferential straps spaced apart axially of the structure passing through clearance holes in each segment, the holes are all larger than the straps and the straps contact alternate segments by means of integral extensions or deformations of the straps. As shown, two straps 6, 7 are arranged to pass through each hole and these straps are so distorted or waved that one strap contacts one set of alternate segments while the other strap contacts the remaining set of alternate segments. Alternatively the straps may be locally enlarged where they are required to contact the segments or provided with contact tags to connect them to the required segments.
